Faficho Bombe is a remarkable coffee from the Sidama region of Ethiopia, an area celebrated for producing some of the most distinctive and expressive coffees in the world. Grown in the highlands near the town of Bensa, this coffee benefits from rich volcanic soil, high elevation (typically around 1,900–2,200 meters), and the dedication of smallholder farmers who carefully handpick ripe cherries.
The name Bombe comes from the nearby Bombe mountain, whose cool climate and fertile slopes contribute to the coffee’s exceptional complexity. Processed using the washed or natural method (depending on the lot), Faficho Bombe showcases a lively and layered flavor profile — expect notes of ripe berries, floral aromatics, citrus brightness, and a honey-like sweetness.

About the farm: Nestled in the highlands of the Bensa District in Sidama, Faficho Bombe is a small community known for producing some of Ethiopia’s most vibrant and expressive coffees. Sitting at elevations between 1,950–2,200 meters, the area benefits from fertile volcanic soil, consistent rainfall, and cool mountain temperatures—perfect conditions for slow coffee cherry maturation.
Producers in Faficho Bombe are smallholder farmers, each cultivating coffee on less than two hectares of land. They deliver their ripe cherries to local washing stations—often the Bombe Washing Station, operated by Daye Bensa Coffee, a renowned exporter dedicated to quality and sustainability.
Coffees from this region are celebrated for their distinctive floral aroma, bright acidity, and juicy sweetness, often showing notes of bergamot, peach, honey, and jasmine. Through careful processing—washed or natural—these flavors are brought to life, reflecting the terroir and craftsmanship that define Sidama’s reputation for excellence.
